Documenting the dynamic link between geology, humans & wildlife
Conservation through the lens
Capturing the evolving landscapes and wildlife through detailed photography and video to reveal Earth's dynamic story.
At Liv In The Wild, my work centers on capturing the subtle shifts in Earth’s landscapes and wildlife. By combining scientific methods and visual storytelling to reveal how natural environments evolve over time.
Integrating and combining technologies such as satellite imagery, remote sensing, and field photography to document changes in topography and ecosystems. This detailed record supports conservation efforts and raises awareness about environmental challenges as well as exploring how geological shifts shape habitats and species behavior.
By sharing these visual narratives, my aim is to connect people with the planet’s ongoing transformations and inspire informed action to protect its future.
Welcome!
Hello! My name is Olivia and I am a geoscientist from a small town in Arkansas, growing up in the valley of the Ouachita Mountains in Ouachita National Forest. After serving 6 years active duty Air Force medical, I finished my Bachelor of Science at the University of North Texas majoring in geography, concentrating in earth systems. I minored in geology with a field focus in water resources/hydrology.
I first picked up a camera back in 2016, starting out on a Canon, refining my skills on an introductory camera. Recently I’ve upgraded to a Sony FX30 and shoot with various lenses, including 2.8/90mm Sony G OSS macro, and 150-600mm Sigma telephoto lens. My background in remote sensing, GIS and digital image processing, allows me to approach photography and cinematography with a geospatial awareness, applying unique techniques to the artistry of filmmaking.
I do love rocks, I also very much enjoy music and movies, picking up music theory at a young age, learning the piano and saxophone as well as horribly picking the guitar. I love playing jazz and classical on my alto, alone at home haha! I’m newly married to my husband Arin who helps me tremendously with filmmaking. We are finishing out the year in the DFW area with our small farm of 2 dogs, 4 cats and 2 leopard geckos before moving north! I’ve spent 13 years lifting in the gym, competing in multiple crossfit competitions, a powerlifting meet and a bodybuilding show throughout my 20’s. Now I just lift for enjoyment and spend most of my days on a trail somewhere but will happily take your lifting photos :)
